RF Isolation Enclosures

Azimuth Systems announces RF isolation enclosures that will facilitate the accurate testing of 4 × 4 multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems, as well as devices based on other wireless technologies. RadioProof™ enclosures provide state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical filtering technology to prevent unwanted RF interference from entering or exiting the chamber, which enables more repeatable and reliable test results. In addition to testing MIMO and SISO Wi-Fi devices, these products are suited for testing 3G Cellular, Bluetooth and WiMAX devices. RadioProof enclosures provide RF connections for MIMO systems with up to four transmitters and four receivers, and filter signals for power, networking and digital control. In addition, these enclosures provide good RF isolation for the broad range of products that operate in frequency bands between 800 MHz and 6 GHz — enabling the testing of wireless devices including handsets, headsets and basestations. There are two versions available — the RadioProof 401, which houses a single device (such as a notebook computer) in an RF-isolation chamber that provides up to 90 dB of radiated RF isolation between the device under test and the outside world, and the RadioProof 402, a dual RF-isolation chamber that houses up to two devices (such as cellular handsets and access points) with up to 90 dB of radiated isolation.
