VCXOs
MMD Components introduces a line of compact PECL (positive emitter coupled logic) voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) with frequency ranges up to 300 MHz utilizing inverted mesa and AT strip crystals. Package size for the MVIP series is 5 × 7 × 1.5 mm. The series is suitable in applications with extreme environmental conditions. When ordered with extended temperature operating range, the VCXOs can operate in temperatures ranging from 㫏° C to +125° C, and the inverted mesa technology enables the units to meet the same shock and vibration levels as oscillators operating in the 20 MHz range. Using inverted mesa crystals also allows extended pull ranges of up to 𫐰 ppm at 300 MHz, operating in the fundamental mode, and provides a low factory jitter in the 2 to 5 nanosecond range. The high-frequency VCXOs are available with a tristate option and in operating voltages of 5, 3.3, and 3 V.
