DC/DC Converters

The ZXLD1601 and ZXLD1615 PFM inductive boost converters from Zetex Semiconductors provide designers with an adjustable source of bias voltage for LCD and OLED driving. The converters produce any output up to 28 V from a 2.5 to 5.5 V battery supply. Output voltage is set to its maximum using two external resistors and is adjusted to a lower value by applying a PWM control signal to the converter's enable pin. Depending on its frequency, the signal will initiate either gated or continuous (low ripple) operation via an internal low pass filter circuit. Both converters include a 30V rated NDMOS switch and a peak current sensor and can generate an output current of up to 10mA at the maximum output voltage. By reducing the output voltage, an output current of up to 250mA is attainable.
