Single-Conversion Tuner for Mobile TV Achieves Low BOM



Maxim Integrated Products introduces its MAX2165 highly integrated, single-conversion tuner for DVB-H, mobile TV applications. This tuner achieves a low external bill-of-materials (BOM) in a small package by integrating all of the tuning functions along with an RF-tracking filter; low-noise amplifier; transmit-reject notch filter; and programmable baseband, lowpass channel-selection filters into a small, 5 mm × 5 mm, 28-pin TQFN. It is suitable for use in cell phones and other handheld devices. The tuner consumes 21 mW of power at 8% duty cycle, it covers a 470 MHz to 780 MHz UHF-signal range, and it operates from a single 2.85 V supply. It is fully compliant with MBRAI and Nordig requirements.
