Synthesized RF Microwave Receiver
M/A-COM announces a TU-3840 Wideband ELINT Tuner. The TU-3840 is designed for use in high-end signal processing military applications and is based on M/A-COM’s SEI-certified, SMR-3822 RF Microwave Sweeping Receiver technology. The TU-3840 design offers frequency coverage of 0.1 to 20 GHz and is extendable up to 40 GHz with the FE-3820. The device is controlled by a remote work station, i.e., desktop or laptop computer. TU-3840 features include IF outputs at 1 GHz and 160 MHz, fixed frequency tuning and F1-F2 sweep, Ethernet 100BaseT or RS-232/422 control, optional RF blanking and attenuation with built-in testing. To remove receiver front end gain variations, a gain-controlled RF component is set automatically by the microprocessor based on internal calibration tables which allows accurate signal amplitude data to be recorded.
