Ansoft Corporation and Taiyo Yuden announce the release of a device library for Ansoft Designer™ and Nexxim™ based on Taiyo Yuden's high-density miniaturized surface-mount components. The component library helps engineers designing electronic equipment, such as Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), car navigation systems, base stations and cellular handsets, by providing electrical responses and mechanical layout features for manufacturing. The library consists of three principle passive surface-mount components: capacitors, ferrite beads, and multilayer inductors. Each component utilizes S-parameter data based on Taiyo Yuden's advanced characterization lab. Additionally, each component can utilize a built-in frequency-dependent equivalent circuit for a 4x speedup in simulation time over the S-parameter-based model simply by toggling the component's model attribute.
