Anritsu Company announces it has enhanced the TD-SCDMA measurement capability in its Spectrum Master family, Cell Master MT8212E, and BTS Master MT8222A/MT8221B handheld instruments. The new test tools address specific market needs and make it easier for field engineers and technicians to maintain and troubleshoot wireless base stations.

Among the enhancements is support of Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS), making the Spectrum Master, Cell Master and BTS Master the first handheld analyzers with this capability. The instruments can accurately and quickly demodulate MBMS slots to ensure accurate signal transmission. Other enhancements include Code Domain Power (CDP) marker capability and CDP Table measurements, which improve how results are displayed.

The Spectrum Master, Cell Master and BTS Master are compact, lightweight, and durable instruments specifically designed for field use. Incorporating the new TD-SCDMA support provides field engineers and technicians with the analysis tools necessary to identify minor problems before they become costly system failures. In addition to TD-SCDMA, the Spectrum Master, Cell Master and BTS Master support most wireless technologies, including WCDMA/HSDPA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and WiMAX.

The Spectrum Master series includes instruments that have the measurement capability of a full-sized, fully functional analyzer in a compact, handheld unit that can go anywhere, anytime to locate, identify, record and solve communication system problems quickly and easily.

The Cell Master MT8212E is a handheld multi-function base station analyzer that combines all the tools required to deploy, maintain and troubleshoot wireless base stations into a lightweight, battery-operated package.

The BTS Master is an integrated multi-functional base station test tool that eliminates the need to carry and learn multiple test instruments. Measurement capabilities include spectrum analysis, precision return loss, VSWR, cable loss, distance-to-fault, two-port gain/loss, one-port and two-port magnitude and phase, interference analysis, spectrogram, RF and demodulation measurements.
