Anritsu introduces the PIM-S system, a test solution that offers a single connection for swept frequency S-parameter and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) measurements on passive components used in the deployment of 3G base stations. Based on Anritsu's innovative Scorpion Vector Network Measurement System (VNMS), the PIM-S system allows manufacturers to consolidate test stations and simplify testing of cables, adapters, isolators, transmit filters, duplexers, tower mount amplifiers (TMAs), and antennas during the manufacturing process. A variety of PIM-S system configurations are available to address wireless standards, including GSM/EGSM, DCS 1800, PCS 1900, and UMTS-FDD. All PIM-S system configurations conform to industry recommendations and IEC 62037. Additionally, the PIM-S system architecture complies with emerging PIM testing requirements for testing with two +46 dBm (40 W) tones.
