Austriamicrosystems' AS1302 DC/DC inductorless boost converter provides an output of up to 30 mA while requiring only 2 ≤220-nF flying caps and 2 ≤2.20-µF bypass capacitors. The 1.20-MHz device accepts an input from 2.90 to 5.15 V and delivers an output of 5 V with an efficiency of up to 99% in 1:1 mode and up to 90% in 1:2 or 2:3 mode. The WL-CSP-8-packaged component offers a soft-start feature and a 10-nA shutdown mode where the output is fully disconnected from the input. The operating temperature range is from -40ºC to 85ºC.
