NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) has developed a line of PLL (phase locked loop) Stratum 3 synchronous timing modules that meet SONET/SDH application standards, complying with Telecordia GR-1244-CORE and GR-253. The DZA3037A features dual reference inputs from 8 kHz to 77 MHz which are automatically detected. It has frequency ramp control during hit-less reference switching. PLL bandwidth is 0.1 Hz. The three operation modes are selected via hardware control. The modes are free run (locking onto a Stratum 3 TCXO), locked (locks onto either of two reference clocks), and holdover (generating output based on the frequency history of the last locked reference). The DZA3037A has an operating temperature range of 0 to +70° C and holdover accuracy of 10 ppb. The DZA3037A is fully RoHS compliant.
