Contactless Memory
STMicroelectronics introduces a contactless memory intended for high volume applications in supply chain management, e-commerce, and access control. The LRI64 is a 64-bit, One Time Programmable (OTP) user memory with an additional 64-bit read-only Unique Identification number (UID). The device complies with the ISO 15693 standard for 13.56 MHz contactless products, and supports the ISO anti-collision mechanism. The device enters its operational mode only when the UID is properly programmed. It includes an internal tuning capacitor, and KILL command. The memory supports the AFI register that allows operation of the anti-collision sequence; anti-collision schemes are required to handle the situation where several contactless memories are within range of the same reader. A 56-bit space remains available for the user as a write once, read many area (WORM). Its 128-bits total memory size allows the device to support and store a 96 EPC (Electronic Product Code) data coding on demand.
