WJ Communications, Inc. announces the WJ SR2200 RFID reader platform. In addition to being EPC UHF Class 1 Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6B compliant, the SR 2200 platform is also backward compatible with EPC Class 1, 0, and 0+. The WJ SR2200 introduces new technology and design attributes that will enhance its read performance. An MCA™ (Modular Component Architecture) has a reader engine core that is based on the latest high performance DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and controller processors. The company has developed the DxP™ (DSP extreme processing) that exploits the inherent power of the hardware to provide a desirable level of performance and sensitivity in today’s demanding environments. WJ has architected the SR2200 platform so partners in the US or International markets can create product solutions based on different RF hardware requirements or interface needs. Since the WJ SR2200 is a software-based radio, this smart reader can be controlled and programmed via industry standard connectivity such as TCP/IP using the emerging EPC Host Interface Protocol.
