Power Amplifier Module
Fairchild announces the RMPA2455, a new RF power amplifier module (PAM) for high-performance wireless LAN (WLAN) client and access point applications in the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz frequency band. The device's combination of 30 dBm output power, 30 dB small signal gain and 3 × 3 mm low-profile leadless package make the RMPA2455 a good linear power amplifier design choice for the 5 V environment. The device's 16-pin QFN package with 50Ω internal matching on both the input and output minimizes next-level PCB space requirements. The device's on-chip detector provides power-sensing capability while the logic capability provides power-saving shutdown options. The product's low power consumption and good linearity are the result of Fairchild's proprietary InGaP Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) technology.
