Phase-Locked Oscillator
The model LT-25 phase-locked oscillator from EM Research is a frequency synthesizer designed for use in environments where high stability and low phase noise over temperature and vibration are requirements. Utilizing a 10 MHz external frequency reference, the device is characterized by its rise/fall times of < 2 nSec with 8 pF load and phase noise of – 115 dBc/Hz at 20 Hz offset, – 135 dBc/Hz at 10 KHz offset, and – 150 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset. RMS noise is < 0.022 degrees over 20 Hz to 10 MHz. The PLO is available in frequencies from 6 MHz to over 50 MHz, and typically operates off +5 VDC at 145 mA. Its 3.3 V CMOS output comes on frequency almost instantly.
