TI Means RoHS Business on Standard Linear and Logic Devices!
Texas Instruments' (TI) Standard Linear & Logic (SLL) organization took notice of the RoHS legislation and began the conversion to RoHS compatible package solutions years ago. TI has been shipping SLL units with NiPdAu (Pb-Free) lead finish since 1989, the material sets were not designed for high temperature reflow, which at the time were not required. Much work was done with the mold compound and die attach suppliers to develop 260C reflow compatible materials. Currently, SLL is in production with a RoHS compatible solution on every package type it offers, and in all cases but one, an equivalent or better MSL rating was achieved at 260C. TI is at the forefront of the Pbfree conversion with either a Pb-Free or Green solution.
