Passive Mixer Includes an On-Chip LO Buffer

Analog Devices, Inc. announces its model ADL5350 small footprint high performance passive mixer. This GaAs pHEMT passive mixer can be used in both down-conversion receiver and up-conversion transmit path applications within a broad frequency range to 4 GHz. The mixer includes an on-chip LO buffer, minimizing the need for an external drive amplifier that is commonly required by some GaAs FET based mixers. It offers networking equipment performance on a 19 mA supply current that is required by handheld portable equipment. The mixer is suitable for wireless infrastructure, as well as consumer equipment such as home networking.
