Small Form Factor SDR Development Platform
Xilinx, Inc. announces its Small Form Factor (SFF) Software Defined Radio (SDR) Development Platform that allows the development and optimization of radio designs for low power operation. The RF-to-baseband platform provides the capability to jumpstart radio waveform development including complete hardware, operating software and middleware stack. It combines a power optimization tool with a miniature board (6 inches inches) to reduce size, weight and power for mobile, handheld and SFF SDRs used in military, public safety and commercial radios. This development platform is based on the Virtex-4 SX35 and LX25 platform FPGAs, TI DM6446 DSP baseband processor, TI ADS5500 analog-to-digital converter, TI DAC5687 digital-to-analog converter, and TI power management ICs.
