Single-chip RFIC

Analog Devices announces the ADF7020-1 transceiver. Designed to address the SRD (short range device) wireless connectivity applications, the ADF7020-1 is a single-chip, transceiver product for the 135 to 650 MHz frequency range with good co-channel and adjacent channel rejection. The device is a low power, highly integrated UHF/VHF transceiver IC which supports data rates of 0.15 to 200 kb/s FSK (frequency shift keying) and 0.15 to 64 kb/s ASK (amplitude shift keying). The ADF7020-1 operates on a + 2.3 to + 3.6 V power supply with programmable output power from – 16 to + 13 dBm in 0.3 dBm steps. Its receiver sensitivity is – 119 dBm at 1 kb/s FSK, – 112 dBm at 9.6 kb/s FSK, and – 106.5 dBm at 9.6 kb/s ASK. Current consumption is 18 mA in receive mode and 27 mA in transmit mode (+10 dBm output). Other features include on-chip VCO (voltage controlled oscillator), fractional-N PLL, on-chip 7-bit analog-to-digital converter, digital received signal strength indication (RSSI) and an integrated T/R switch.
