Solid State RF Amplifier

The P/N SSPA 1030-1090-100 is a high power pulsed L Band solid state power amplifier that operates over the 1030 and 1090 MHz bands. This PA was designed for secondary surveillance radar and supports IFF interrogator challenge and transponder reply waveforms at 1030 and 1090 MHz. The robust amplifier offers greater than 40 dB of saturated gain across the band. Minimum output power is 100 watts at +70°C in saturation. Input and output VSWR is <1.5:1. This class AB unit has a quiescent current of 2.6 amps typical and operates from a +28 V DC supply. This model comes housed in a small modular case that is approximately 7.0 inches× 10.0 inches× 3.0 inches with a heat sink. Standard features include over/under voltage protection, reverse polarity protection and input/output open short circuit protection, forward and reflected power telemetry with a minimum of 20 dB dynamic range, full active biasing of all transistors and an extremely well regulated DC-DC converter. Operation from – 40°C to +85°C is standard. Input RF connector is SMA female. Output RF connector is type N female. DC and telemetry voltages are accessible via DC pins.
