RF Testers

The R&S CBT and the R&S CBT 32 from Rohde & Schwarz are two Bluetooth testers for development, production and verification. The test sequences are in line with specifications and can be set according to user requirements. A built-in "dirty transmitter" simulates impure signals to test the behavior of user equipment under realistic conditions. The testers perform Bluetooth receiver and transmitter measurements by setting up a connection to the DUT (device under test) where the tester is the master and the DUT the slave. As soon as the frequency drift parameter is activated, the instruments determine how and to what extent the user equipment adapts to difficult conditions and tracks the frequency. The bit error rate (BER) and the packet error rate (PER) can even be measured with the two Bluetooth testers operating in full hopping mode. Both instruments can switch the DUT to different power-save modes in order to test its current consumption. The testers perform two spectrum measurements, 20 dB bandwidth and adjacent-channel power (ACP), and are able to determine average power, peak power, initial carrier frequency tolerance, frequency drift, drift rate, and frequency deviation.
