Caddock Electronics’ Sudden Fault Fuse Resistors (SFFR) gate resistors offer damage elimination in the gate driver circuit caused the breakdown of gate isolation in the IGTB. The sudden application of the high voltage fault instantaneously distributes multiple interruptions along the length of the SFFR element to open the high voltage fault. The gate resistor ranges from 1 to 30 ?. Examples of the fault voltage range capabilities are from 200 to 500 V DC, from 400 to 1,100 V DC, and from 600 to 1,500 V DC. The resistors offer a typical opening time of <20 sec, power up to 1 W and availability up to 1,100 V.
