EiC Corporation introduces the ECM070 WCDMA PAM with exceptionally high power added efficiency. The typical PAE value for the ECM070 is 44% at power out of 28 dBm. This InGaP GaAs HBT device operates from a positive supply voltage of 3.2 to 4.2 V and includes a power down feature. Reference voltage can be set at 2.85 V, making the amplifier compatible with the Qualcomm( 6250 chipset. It is packaged in a 4 × 4 mm LGA package and the input and output is internally matched to 50Ω. The device draws 50 mA quiescent current and requires no bias switching. Thus no additional control voltage is needed to specify high/low power mode.
