Amplifier IC

CEL announces a two-stage, medium power SiGe HBT amplifier IC from NEC. The UPA901TU is designed for use in 5.8 GHz applications like cordless phones, electronic toll collection, WLAN, and DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communications) systems. It combines high gain and high efficiency for reduced DC power consumption in handheld, battery-powered products. Designed to operate at 2.5 to 4.5 V, the UPA901TU uses a single power supply voltage and provides a built-in bias circuit for simplicity of design. Performance specifications (at 3.6 V) include: frequency of 5.8 GHz; output power (at – 3 dBm PIN):19 dBm typical.
