Sirenza announced the release of the SZA-5044 and STA-6033 power amplifier ICs. Each multi-stage amplifier operates over the 4.9 to 5.9 GHz band and includes integrated features such as bias control and power detection required for WLAN and WiMAX transmitter ICs. The SZA-5044 delivers a Pout = 22 dBm @ 3% EVM and 28 dB gain while operating from a +5 V supply at 310 mA. The STA-6033 is targeted for 3.3 V applications and delivers a Pout = 18 dBm @ 3% EVM and 27 dB gain at a supply current of 210mA. Both the SZA-5044 and the STA-6033 are available in low cost, surface mount QFN packages.
