Current Sense Chip Resistors for Automotive Applications

TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division offers its LRF3W series 3 W surface mount chip resistors that are offered in a package size traditionally rated at 1 W. Because of its high power rating in a space-saving package, the series’ resistors are suitable for high current-sensing automotive applications including fuel-gauging and over-current detection, AC/DC power supplies and VRMs, motorized seats, power windows, seat heaters and automotive fuel pump collision cut-off. They feature a resistance range from 0.002Ω to 0.100Ω, with absolute tolerances of ± 1 percent, ± 2 percent, ± 5 percent and ± 10 percent. Power dissipation is up to 3 W at 70°C, with a low TCR of ± 100 ppm/°C. Operating temperature ranges from -55°C to +150°C. Devices outside these specifications are available.
