Low Dropout Regulator

Linear Technology announces the LTC3025, a 300 mA Very Low Dropout Regulator (VLDO) with input voltage capability down to 0.9 V. It has a dropout voltage of 45 mV while delivering up to 300 mA of output current. The regulator can also be used for 3.3 V/5 V down to Vout>= 1.20 V, since it has a 0.4 V reference. In addition, the device offers micropower operation with 54 uA of quiescent current, and less than 1 uA in shutdown, maximizing run time in handheld applications. The regulator has low ESR ceramic output capacitors as small as 1 uF.
