Linear Technology introduces the LTC2439-1, an 8-channel, differential input, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter with a proprietary No Latency Delta-Sigma™ architecture that allows single-cycle settling time. The digital filter settles in one conversion cycle even after a change in multiplexer input channels. Transparent auto calibration ensures stable output codes independent of time, temperature, supply, and channel selection. The converter is suitable for products such as temperature or pressure sensors, and process control equipment. The device has a wide common mode input range that simplifies analog front-end circuitry. An internal oscillator eliminates external crystals or clocks. The converter simultaneously rejects 50 Hz and 60 Hz line frequencies, allowing direct connection to most sensors. The reference voltage can range from 0.1 V to Vcc. This product operates from a wide 2.7 to 5.5V supply range. It consumes just 200 uA of supply current during conversion and 2 uA during shutdown.
