Power Quality Filters Offer Low Harmonic Distortion

Schaffner’s FN 3410 and FN 3412 Series ECOsine™ power quality filters reduce total harmonic current distortion (THID) to less than 5% in three-phase power electronics with six-pulse rectifier front ends, such as AC or DC motor drives. The FN 3410 Series operates on 50 Hz grids with power ratings from 4 to 160 kW over a voltage range from 380 to 500 V. The FN 3412 Series performs on 60 Hz grids with standard ratings from 5 to 250 HP over a voltage range from 440 to 480 V. The IEEE 519-standardized components include a standard safety feature that continuously monitors filter temperature, controls the internal fans, and provides an NC/C contact for integration into a machine or system control unit. The RoHS-compliant filters use a plug-and-play concept that allows for installation, wiring and commissioning without the need for system analysis.
