California Micro Devices announces the CM1425, a four channel electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter array with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for data lines that connect the RF wireless and baseband chipsets, keypad modules, I/O data ports, and buses in mobile applications such as wireless handsets and PDAs. Using the company's Centurion™( advanced zener process, the filter offers a solution with low capacitance and low equivalent series resistance (ESR). Featuring a pi style (R-C-R) low pass filter architecture, the product offers quick roll-off and good attenuation while maintaining a cutoff frequency of 86 MHz. The filter design provides greater than 30 dB of attenuation over the 800 MHz to 2.7 GHz carrier frequency range, due to a reduced filter capacitance value of 20 pF. The device offers ESD protection of (15 kV contact discharge.
