W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. and FCI combine their technologies to offer a high data rate digital interconnect product. The data link leverages the advantages of FCI’s AirMax VS® high-speed connection system with Gore’s expertise in cable assembly development. The configuration utilizes the patented AirMax connector concept to provide desirable high frequency performance without the use of elaborate shielding. The cable assembly uses cable with Gore’s expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) as the dielectric core. The helically wrapped ePTFE core ensures constant impedance throughout the length of the cables with good stability with temperature cycling or flexing. Gore high density copper cable assemblies are available in a number of standard configurations. The FCI AirMax VS® connectors are offered in multiple configurations: five, four and three pair per column versions and in a variety of column counts including ten, eight and six.
