MMIC Phase Shifters Cover 2.5 to 18.5 GHz



Low insertion loss 5-bit and 6-bit MMIC phase shifters 360° phase shift

Hittite Microwave Corporation introduces twelve new low insertion loss 5-bit and 6-bit MMIC Digital Phase Shifters which are appropriate for EW receivers, radar, satellite communications, and beamforming modules from 2.5 to 18.5 GHz. Included in the introduction are the HMC644, the HMC647 and the HMC648. The HMC644 is a 5-bit Digital Phase Shifter MMIC chip which is rated from 15 to 18.5 GHz, and provides 360° of phase shift in steps of 11.25°. The HMC644 exhibits only 6.5 dB insertion loss, and a high +40 dBm input IP3. The HMC647 is a 6-bit Digital Phase Shifter MMIC chip which is rated from 2.5 to 3.1 GHz, and provides 360° of phase shift in steps of 5.6°. The HMC647 is controlled with 0/+5 V control levels, and exhibits a phase error of only 1° RMS. The HMC648 is a 6-bit Digital Phase Shifter MMIC chip which is rated from 2.9 to 3.9 GHz, and is controlled with a single 0/+5 V control line per bit. The HMC648 exhibits a phase error of only 1.5°RMS, and insertion loss of 4 dB.
