Hittite Microwave Corp. announces its models HMC608 and HMC608LC4 dual mode medium power amplifiers for microwave radio and military applications that operate in the frequency band of 9.5 to 11.5 GHz. These amplifiers are suitable for use in point-to-point radio, VSAT, military and space applications where high power, high gain and low power consumption is required. They are GaAs PHEMT MMIC amplifiers that deliver a typical gain of 31 dB, an OIP3 of +33 dBm and a noise figure of 5.5 dB. They offer a choice of two different modes of operation: a high gain mode which delivers 3 dB of gain while consuming 310 mA of DC current, or a low gain mode providing 22 dB and consuming 67 mA.
