Active Frequency Multiplier

Hittite Microwave Corporation introduces a GaAs MMIC x2 Active Frequency Multiplier which is suitable for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, VSAT, telecom, test instrumentation, military, space and fiber optics applications from 8 to 21 GHz. The HMC561 is a broadband x2 Active Frequency Multiplier die, which utilizes GaAs PHEMT technology and accepts input drive levels from 0 to +6 dBm. When driven with a +5 dBm input signal, the HMC561 provides +17 dBm typical output power from 8 to 21 GHz, and the Fo and 3Fo isolations are 15 dBc. This compact MMIC multiplier also delivers low additive SSB phase noise of -139 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, making it suitable for use in LO multiplier chains for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios.
