SMT LNAs
Hittite announces two SMT compatible, RoHS compliant low noise amplifiers for microwave radio, test, and sensor applications from 9 to 26 GHz. The HMC516LC5 and the HMC517LC4 GaAs PHEMT MMIC LNAs are designed to meet the needs of microwave radio designers who need a low noise front end device that can also provide enough output power to drive a mixer LO or function as a general purpose buffer amp. These devices achieve noise figures as low as 1.9 dB while providing up to 20 dB gain and +17 dBm Psat. The HMC516LC5 is rated from 9 to 18 GHz, and is offered in a 5 × 5 mm leadless SMT package while the HMC517LC4 is rated from 17 to 26 GHz and is offered in a 4 × 4 mm leadless SMT package. Both LNAs operate from a single +3 V supply and consume 65 to 68 mA.
