Hittite announces two SiGe HBT gain block MMIC amplifiers for use in cellular/3G, FWA, microwave radio, and test equipment applications from DC to 4 GHz. The HMC478ST89 and HMC478MP86 SiGe HBT gain blocks are fully matched to 5Ω, provide 22 dB of gain, and can be used as cascadable gain stages in various RF and IF applications. With +18 dBm of output P1dB and +32 dBm of output IP3 at 1 GHz, the gain blocks can also be used as LO buffer amplifiers or as PA pre-drivers. These amplifiers operate from a single positive supply of +5 to +12 V, consume 62 mA, and require no external matching components. Both products offer a Class 1C (1000V HBM) ESD rating.
