Vector Network Analyzer

Anritsu introduces the ME7808B Broadband Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) that provides improved dynamic range of up to 12 dB and an ultra-low phase noise capability that reduces high level noise (HLN) for measurements in the banded millimeter wave ranges. The ME7808B has a flexible system architecture that allows it to serve as three systems in one — a broadband VNA, a standalone microwave VNA, and a millimeter wave VNA. In addition to providing continuous broadband frequency coverage from 40 MHz to 110 GHz, the ME7808B can be configured with any of Anritsu's two-port Lightning VNAs to serve as a millimeter wave VNA solution that covers specific millimeter wave bands from 50 GHz to 325 GHz. The ME7808B Broadband and Millimeter Wave VNAs are configured with two 20 GHz synthesized sources that have ultra-low phase noise as standard. The two sources provide the LO and RF drive to the millimeter wave modules, which translates to a trace noise of <0.1 dB at 325 GHz. For specific on-wafer calibration methods, the ME7808B provides an easy interface for entering the parameters for OSLT, LRL, and LRM calibrations. Anritsu has developed the 3656 W1 Calibration/Verification Kit for the ME7808B. With the 3656, users can calibrate the Broadband VNA from 40 MHz to 110 GHz at its W1 coax test ports. The kit supports OSLT calibrations using opens, shorts and loads from 40 MHz to 65 GHz, and Triple Offset Short calibrations from 65 GHz to 110 GHz. The two banded calibrations are concatenated in the VNA, resulting in a continuous broadband calibration.
