Step-Down Switching Regulators

Murata Power Solutions announces its 78SR series 2 A switching regulators that provide high operating efficiency for applications requiring 3.3 V or 5 V outputs at 2 A or less from 8 to 32 V inputs. At a nominal 12 V input, full-load efficiencies approach 96 percent for 5 V models and 93 percent for 3.3 V models. Switching regulators that operate at 12 Vin and 25 percent load (0.5 A) deliver efficiencies of 90 percent for 5 V models and 87 percent for 3.3 V models. The switching regulators are available in two 0.8 inchesࡦ.85 inches package styles: a standard vertical-mount and in a horizontal-mount version for applications with height restrictions. The series has a 210 KHz switching frequency, optimized low-loss layout and an open frame construction.
