Multi-mode Power Amplifier

ANADIGICS announces two multi mode, multi-band PAs. The AWT6223 combines IMT-band WCDMA operation with quad-band polar EDGE functionality. The AWT6225 integrates an IMT-band WCDMA PA with quad-band GSM/GPRS capabilities. The PAs utilize the company’s HELP2™ technology to reduce WCDMA average power consumption. In WCDMA mode, the power amplifiers offers efficiencies of 43% at 28.5 dBm and 21% at +16 dBm, resulting in longer battery life and additional talk-time. In GSM mode, the power amplifiers provide efficiency of 55% in the GSM850/900 bands and 50% in the DCS/PCS bands.
