iMEMS Accelerometer Exhibits Low Power
Analog Devices’ ADXL345 3-axis digital iMEMS accelerometer offers a power range from 25 to 130 µA in portable consumers electronics. The motion sensor incorporates an on-chip ADC, an on-chip FIFO (first-in/first-out) memory block that stores up to 32 sample sets of X, Y and Z data; and I²C and 3- and 4-wire SPI digital interfaces. The component presents an output data range from 0.1 Hz to 3.2 kHz, measurement of dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or shock, a 10,000-g shock rating, and resolution of 4-milli-g/LSB (least-significant bit) across all g ranges. The component demonstrates single- and double-tap detection, activity and inactivity detection, free fall detection, user-programmable threshold levels, and a voltage range from 1.8 to 3.6 V.
