Aperto Networks and Allied Telesis Enter Alliance

Aperto Networks, developer of the world’s most advanced WiMAX base stations and subscriber units, today announced a strategic alliance with Allied Telesis to sell Aperto Networks’ carrier-grade PacketMAX™ solutions, starting with the 2.5 GHz product supply for the Japanese market.

Upon frequency band approval, the partnership will enable Allied, a global provider of secure Ethernet/IP access solutions and a leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over copper and fiber access infrastructures, to quickly enter the potentially burgeoning WiMAX market in Japan.

"This is a compelling strategic partnering relationship for both companies," said Hiroshi Mano, CTO of Allied Telesis Holdings K.K. "Allied has significant expertise in producing all-IP broadband access systems with a unique combination of value, reliability, management and security. The addition of Aperto’s robust, carrier-class WiMAX products will be a strong complement to Allied’s existing wireline and wireless solutions."

"We are excited about our alliance with Allied Telesis," said Reza Ahy, Chairman and CEO of Aperto Networks. "Allied is a focused solutions provider with a strong presence in IP-based broadband access. Assuming the carriers secure the necessary frequency and regulatory approval for WiMAX, we expect Japan to become a significant market for both of our respective companies."
