Power-One, Inc. introduces the 20A ZY7120. The ZY7120 is user-programmable via industry-standard I²C protocols, to provide a 0.5 to 5.5 VDC digitally-controlled output, to power a wide range of infrastructure applications including networking and data storage systems. The device is vertically mounted and provides over 30 W/cm³ (500 W/ in³) power density from an 8 × 32 mm SMT footprint and low-profile 14 mm height. Digital Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) control technology facilitates up to ± 1% output-voltage accuracy and start up into 100% pre-biased loads, over an 3 to 13.2 VDC input range. I²C-programmable parameters also include: output tracking and sequencing, switching frequency (0.5 to 1.0 MHz), interleaving, feedback-loop compensation, and active digital current sharing that can provide 200 A from 10 paralleled Z-POL converters. Programmable protection features include: output overcurrent and overvoltage, input undervoltage, power good signal limits, and fault management. I²C-accessible real-time reporting includes: output voltage and current and Z-POL™ temperature.
