Micrel Inc. launches its MIC23150 high output current device in the HyperLight Load family of synchronous step-down regulators. The architecture implemented in this regulator delivers high efficiency light load for portable products and green home/office appliances. It features internal MOSFETs that are able to deliver up to 1.5 A output current while consuming 23 µA of quiescent current inside a 2 × 2 mm thin MLF package. The regulator achieves up to 93% peak efficiency and an 87% efficiency under a 1 mA load. It is available in fixed output options of 1, 1.2, 1.8 and 3.3 V, and it operates at 4 MHz, requiring only 3 external components.
