Quad PIN Diode Attenuators

Avago Technologies introduces a series of pi-connected quad PIN (positive-intrinsic-negative) diodes in lead-free, SOT-25 surface-mount packages. These matched quads simplify the design and lower the costs of voltage-controlled diode pi attenuators operating over the 300 kHz to 3 GHz frequency range. The devices offer the combination of high linearity to minimize signal distortion and a wide attenuation range to provide high dynamic range. With +1.2 V control voltage, at 1 GHz, the HSMP-3866 features +30 dBm IIP3, up to 36 dB attenuation, insertion loss of – 3 dB and – 18 dB return loss (all typical). With +5 V control voltage, at 1 GHz, the HSMP-3816 features +45 dBm IIP3, up to 38 dB attenuation, – 3 dB insertion loss and – 22 dB return loss (all typical).
