Design Software

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

Agilent Eesof EDA introduces ADS 2004A, the fastest version of ADS to date. The software sets standards for productivity and ease-of-use for common design tasks. In addition it provides new layout verification capabilities, a patented optimization technology and is supported on the RedHat Linux operating system.

Digital-to-Analog Converter

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

FMA announces that the MB86064 dual 14-bit DAC now features a conversion rate of 1GSa/s. Fujitsu's double data rate (DDR) LVDS interfaces help to enable the increased data rate. Combined with its proprietary loop-clock facility, this enables realizable solutions when combined with either FPGA or ASIC data generators.

Frequency Multiplier

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

Hittite introduces a 9.9 to 12.7 GHz Active X2 frequency multiplier which is suitable for use as an LO multiplier in microwave radio, VSAT, radar, and ECM applications, and in OC-192 clock recovery circuits. The HMC369LP3 provides +4 dBm of output power. All undesired fundamental and sub-harmonics are suppressed to 30 dBc with respect to the output signal level, while the low additive SSB phase noise of 𤩾 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset, helps the user maintain good system noise performance.

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

Agilent announces an film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) duplexer for handsets, data cards, and other wireless products operating in the U.S. PCS frequency band. The duplexer makes it possible to design slimmer mobile phones, and allows for additional handset features such as a camera module, GPS locator, and Bluetooth™ connectivity.

Highpass Filter

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

This filter from K&L Microwave combines suspended substrate and chip/wire technology to meet the following specifications: 3.0 dB cutoff at 1.0 GHz, <1.0 dB insertion loss at 1.1 GHz to 6.0 GHz, >30 dB at DC to .75 GHz and 2.0:1 VSWR at 1.1 GHz to 6.0 GHz. This unit utilizes plated thru boards for a repeatable and stable response.

CMOS Switch

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

Peregrine Semiconductor's PE4259 RF SPDT switch provides single control input, ESD tolerance of 2 kV HBM, insertion loss of 0.3 dB/1 GHz, IP3 of 60 dBm/2 GHz, and isolation of 32 dB/1 GHz. Patented technology reduces up to five blocking capacitors and a control line compared to similar GaAs devices.

Active Mixers

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

Linear Technology introduces two high linearity upconverting RF active mixers with integrated RF transformers. The LT5519 operates over the 0.7 to 1.4 GHz range, while the LT5520 covers the 1.3 to 2.3 GHz frequency bands without requiring external matching components. These devices have applications in cellular basestations, cable modem, and video-on-demand headend equipment and high performance satellite transceivers.
