Maxim introduces the MAX2825/MAX2826/MAX2827 family of single-chip RF transceivers designed for 802.11a/g, 54Mb/s, OFDM radio applications. Manufactured using Maxim's SiGe BiCMOS process, these transceivers improve receiver sensitivity performance by 5 dB in 11g 54 Mb/s mode when compared to existing CMOS-based designs.

Dielectric Ceramic Material

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Wireless Design & Development | Product Releases | Comments

Designed to meet the needs of base station cavity filters, MEC's dielectric material is used in cellular infrastructure networks. This solution offers a dielectric constant of 35, and depending on the application, a Qo (unloaded) of greater than 40,000 (at 2 GHz), allowing the cavity filter size to be reduced while achieving low insertion loss.

Power Amplifier

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

OPHIR RF is pleased to announce amplifier model 4022. This high power amplifier produces 200 W of CW power over the frequency range of 2.7 to 3.2 GHz. This unit was designed for S-band radar applications, such as military radar, airport surveillance, and maritime navigation radar. The 4022 comes standard with RF input overdrive protection, as well as the ability to withstand an infinite load VSWR mismatch, all in a 5U high rack-mount chassis.

GaAs Amplifier

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

The SM2040-37 is a 2.0 to 4.0 GHz solid state GaAs amplifier designed for use in military and wireless markets. This module has a linear gain of 37 dB and 5 W of output power at the P1dB compression point. It operates from a single supply voltage of +12 V at 2.7 A of quiescent current. Features include over/reverse voltage protection, thermal protection with auto reset, and TTL logic on/off control.

CMOS Switch

May 14, 2004 5:38 am | Product Releases | Comments

Peregrine Semiconductor's PE4259 RF SPDT switch provides single control input, ESD tolerance of 2 kV HBM, insertion loss of 0.3 dB/1 GHz, IP3 of 60 dBm/2 GHz, and isolation of 32 dB/1 GHz. Patented technology reduces up to five blocking capacitors and a control line compared to similar GaAs devices.
