The OSD035T0716-29 TFT is appropriate as an upgrade for the monochrome STN LCD look without investing in significant upgrades in the system processor. This 3.5 inches TFT measures 77.0 × 64.0 × 3.3 mm (W × H × D) outline dimensions and features an i80 system interface with an 8-bit data bus. The display presents a 65k/262k color depth (driver selectable) and 300 cd/m² brightness at 400:1 contrast ratio. The display offers a competitive power specification using a six-LED backlight running at the specified brightness at 384 mW. The temperature specification is -20°C to +70°C operating range and -30°C to +80° storage. This display is suitable for systems and controls featuring full mostly full color menus that do not have any benefit from the higher data rates parallel interface TFT versions. This device is said to save expense in processor overhead and system complexity, and it can often use hardware platforms built around more legacy STN LCD displays.
