Alereon, Inc. has announced the AL4000 PHY chipset based on the WiMedia UWB common radio platform. This chipset is composed of the AL4100 RF Transceiver and AL4200 Baseband Processor (BBP). Together, the two chips provide a complete WiMedia-based PHY solution for use with any compatible WiMedia or Wireless USB MAC. Each chipset has completed functional validation, characterization, testing, ATE correlation and a full 500-hour HTOL (High Temperature Operating Life) qualification before shipment.
