Power-One, Inc. introduces its 60A ZY8160, a high current digital Point-of-Load (POL) module. This fully-programmable DC/DC converter provides power management capabilities with no additional space requirements when compared to analog “conversion only” systems. This product is targeted for the server market, but is also well suited for communications. Programmable parameters include, but are not limited to output voltages, sequencing, tracking, feedback loop compensation and protection limits. These user-defined settings are stored in a DPM, and they are used to initialize the device during system startup. It can operate autonomously in any system, and it does not require users to provide an I2C interface, host processor or non-volatile memory.
