Power-One, Inc. announces that its latest version of the Z-One® Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides the capability to configure, program and monitor Point-Of-Load (POL) converters and Digital Power Managers (DPMs) obtained from any Z-Alliance™ compliant manufacturer. In addition to using an industry-standard I₂C communications port, this GUI supports JTAG programming. The system, used in conjunction with Z-7000 Series products, facilitates simplified power system development. A range of parameters, such as V_out for each POL, can be user-programmed and stored in a DPM. At system startup, the DPM uses this stored information to initialize up to 32 Z-7000 POLs. After system initialization, ongoing bi-directional communications facilitate intelligent power system operation.
