Virtio announced the formation of the VirtioVantage program that provides pre and post silicon models, integration, and support to members of the partnership program. The tools and services included in the VirtioVantage program accelerate the ability of Independent Software Vendors ("ISV") to deliver solutions to silicon vendors, OEMs, and ODMs. Overall time-to-market is reduced by eliminating the need for actual hardware boards in order to start software development. The VirtioVantage program is initially targeted at ISVs and system software developers utilizing the Texas Instrument's OMAP™ platforms. The program will make OMAP 1 as well as OMAP 2 platforms and support services available to partners developing devices, porting operating systems, or designing applications on these platforms.
